Title :
Modified NPDS using Sub-flap Mattress Suture with phaco and IOL in POAG - a new innovative option
Synopsis :
AIM- Aim of this presentation is to discuss how to deal advanced primary open angle glaucoma with visually significant cataract.with modified deep sclerectomy and to make it safer. Nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy (NPDS), is a filtering surgery where the internal wall of Schlemm's canal is excised, allowing sub-conjunctival filtration without actually entering the anterior chamber. This technique was developed to minimize the complications of trabeculectomy. this video of phacoemulsification-intraocular lens (IOL) implantation-combined with modified nonperforating deep sclerectomy using Sub-flap Mattress Suture in cases of advanced primary open angle glaucoma with visually significant cataract. Modified NPDS with Sub-flap Mattress Suture appears to be an economic ,effective and safe filtering procedure for lowering IOP and could be an alternative to phaco trabeculectomy in open angle glaucoma with the advantage of having fewer complication rate makes ambulatory care easier
